AC/Heater Control Not Working

I have a 2002 996 Cabriolet. All of a sudden the AC/Heater controls are not turning on the AC or Heater. They don't work at all. The lights are very faint. Does anybody have any idea what the problem is?

Sounds like the control panel has gone bad.

How difficult is a control panel to change?

Not too bad I think it's just like any other head unit. You can get them used on e-bay and at dcauto.com. Check Pelican parts under the technical articles, there may be a tutorial on how to replace it.

Check this out, it's to replace the radio but I think it explaines how to remove the HVAC head unit.

Thanks much for the help. I did purchase a used one off of eBay. I just hope it works. I found a DIY and it should be easy. Thanks again.

As it turned out the shop that replaced my top had taken out a fuse and put it back in the wrong slot. Guess what happened when I put it in the right slot. Yep. My ac and heat work. Hooray.
