Pss9 DIY install tips

Preparing to install a set of PSS9's that I recieved recently. Pretty excited but Iam planning to do the install my self with two other people and lift. For those that have done this, I heard its pretty straight forward, do you have any tips as to what to look for or things to do first ??

Don't know if you have 4wd or not but either way, I would put some masking tape by the wheel well openings in addition to using some towels so you don't scratch your fenders.

If your car has some corrosion underneath make sure you hit the sway bar end links with on blaster overnight. Those can be a pain to take off if corroded.

Also preload the springs before you install it as it's easier to loosen the collar nut than to tighten it after the car. Take into account your springs will settle after a couple weeks so set the initial ride height a bit higher like 1/2 " or so.

But really with two other guys and a lift, you shouldn't have any issues.

I did mine myself in a small garage with 3ft working space on either sides with 1 floor jack. I've done quite a few other suspensions before and would rank this one of the easier ones IMO.

The car is a C2 rear wheel drive. Glad to hear its the easier of the installs youve done. We are renting a lift so our game plan is 8 hours or under. I took a look at all the suspension components underneath and looked to be covered in brake dust. Personally for 2 of us its our first time doing suspension and the other person is in diesel mechanics so we hope it goes smoothly.

As for parts that are being reused from the stock setup, its everything but the shocks/struts and springs correct?

With 2 guys and a lift, you guys should be able to do it 4 hours tops IMO. It took a bit over 2 hours doing it myself but I'm pretty experienced.

Correct on the parts. Just examine the strut mounts for smoothness and cracking.

Also might wanna either hit the adjusting threads with wd40 often or get locksmith graphite spray lube which lasts longer to make future adjustments easier.

So we did the install yesterday. I'll get pictures up once I get a chance to take some. Pretty simple to do as long as you have the right tools, which we did. Took 7 hours and 28 minutes exactly but we took our time. So far I notice a huge difference and love them, but as a lot have said on PSS9's, the fronts clunk like crazy. After the install it also threw a failed PSM and ABS light so I plan to figure those things out within the next couple weeks.

Did you hook the wheel sensor back up? That would be my guess.

I feel like we did but more than likely missed a side so I'll be double checking that. question for you: I need to go find a central strut nut, any idea what kind of nut it is (type and size, I know its an m14)

Edit: Found its an m14 x 1.5. hoping thats correct

So I found the issue with the strut mount central strut. As Im trying to tighten it, the entire strut seems to be spinning which is whats not allowing me to tighten. The only problem is the suspension is already on, how do can I go about tightening this without removing the suspension again
