Console Riser Kit - thoughts? reviews?

Hey guys, I just bought a 996 GT3 console delete kit for some more legroom in my Carrera (not installed yet) but then I ran across this Console Riser Kit from Function-First:

http://function-first.com/products/i...-riser-kit-996

I'm considering purchasing this unit instead, as I was very hesitant about losing the cubby bin in the lower console with the console delete, and I would be able to keep it with this kit. Plus, my track car has a raised shifter, and it would be awesome to have that similar setup in my street car.

Anybody have this in their car? Pics? Reviews? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have had the gt3 console delete in mine since shortly after I bought it, and I like it. My shin just below my knee would rest against the factory console and genuinely hurt on a long trip. No interference now. This is one of the main reasons I would NOT be looking at a newer 911 - the have changed the interior to be just like every other car out there with a massive console. I very much like the open footwell below the dash.....and my ham radio mounts nicely down on the hump at the base of the firewall.

I just threw up some pics of my unit installed in the Turbo forum (2nd page, posts #19 and #20. Quite happy with the fitment and feel of the kit!

We've had a few customers come through the shop with these - hard to believe such a simple thing would make such a big difference - but it does!

Shoot me a PM if you guys are interested, we can get them for you at a 6Speed discount

Alabamatoy you run a ham radio? Please more details. I was a MARS operator in the Army and have some experience with ham radios. Sounds like an interesting set up.

Thanks
