This is a late reply; had the same problem, replaced slightly defective battery, still no start. I pulled the connector off the clutch switch and jumped it with a home made jumper from #12 house wire, about 2 1/2" long, stripped ends, and bent in a loop to fit. It started right up and I ran it for a week like that. I finally contorted my aging body and got my head under the clutch switch and tightened it as it was loose; that was the problem, reconnected wire and end of problem.
