Fuel consumption 996, 3.4

Hi all,

I'm on the market for a 996 however I had a 2000 996 available for a month (hence I'm hooked to get one)
The interesting part is that I have measured the fuel consumption. It shows 17L/100Km

It was combined local and highway driving.

Is this normal or a bit too much?

Thanks

I get 17-18 MPG in town and up to 26 on the highway but I don't do much of that.

18 miles = 28.9Km
1 gallon = 3,78L

That's about 13L/100Km

.. and this was 17L p/100Km

In never check my fuel consumption. Or will I.... I don't see the point. Fuel consumption is dependent on how you drive your car.

Same here. I have noticed the accelerator is directly connected to the gas gauge. Push it down and the gauge level drops. I did notice my car averaged about 18.5 mpg around town after getting the IMS upgrade and things were reset. Since then, the "overall" has been 20-21, with about 75% of the mileage in town. It's still cheaper to top off the tank in my car vs the F-150 and a LOT more fun to drive!

Checking your mileage occasionally can alert you to issues before you have a real problem. Just ignoring it is like sticking your head in the sand. But to each their own.

This is exactly why I started the discussion, thinking something may be wrong with such excessive fuel consumption.

19-20 "in town" and 22-24 "on the highway" ... of course AC and speed plays a large part. But hey, we're all doing the speed limit right ....
