As the title says, I'm personally looking to see what our options are for lip spoilers on the stock 996.2 c2 bumper. Any links or pictures to see what you guys have done to make the stock bumper a bit more aggressive.
My 2003 996 Coupe came with factory Carrera Wing and side skirts, everything less front bumper.
I was on the fence about an add on spoiler, or complete bumper cover.
I purchased a factory OEM porsche GT3 / Aero bumper from ECS.
At the time I was told there were 3 in the US and 7 in Germany, thats it.
Here is a listing on ebay for similar bumper, I don't know anything about quality.
ebay item 181713735379.
there also is a kit which has lower lip, and the two supports that go up in front on either sides center grill insert. I think it is GT3 tek number Part # 996 A1 FL 02-04
If you do this, you should contact Scott at Fremont Porsche, and purchase the GT3 front air ducts, less than $40 and worth it, also they sell smoke or clear euro side makers replacing your factory amber.
If I had to do it all over again, I would do the same thing, nothing like factory fit.
I attached some photos of before and after. Good luck.
The one's I've seen had no issues. I mean...it's a little add on lip. Hard to screw that up.
I have no experience with the full bumpers however.
I think some just have an issue with the way it is packaged and delivered which is basically folded in half.:wow:
Sometimes this requires extra work and possibly a heat gun to get everything straightened out. This extra process can cost you extra if you're getting it done at a body shop. YMMV.
