I am wondering if I could get some feedback I am going to service this car wondering how much I should do for reliability resale value. I think I need to drop the gearbox and do the ims, The clutch is strong but if I have to take it off I may as well drop the 500 and install a new one yes? I think I can do it pretty easily but for resale think I should have a shop work on it, what do you guys think is a ballpark to drop the transmission, swap ims an clutch at an indie? I looked at diy and it looks fairly straight forward, my guess is a good shop could do it pretty quickly but what is shop time?

Call some indy's in your area to get quotes is probably the best way to find out. GL

Whatever is due on miles or time.

Belt, plugs, fuel filter, intake air filter, cabin air filter, tranny/diff fluid.

If the coils look suspect, replace them.

If the coolant is "old" -- 4 or more years old -- I'd drain and refill the cooling system with a 50/50 blend of Porsche anti-freeze and distilled water. Use a vacuum lift system to ensure no air pockets.

Be sure the brake fluid and clutch fluid (if so equipped) is flushed and bled. If a Tip I'd leave the Tip fluid service to the dealer/shop. (Really, I let the dealer do the manual tranny fluid change. The cost is rather low and I don't have to deal with that nasty tranny fluid and the draining and refilling business.)

While you are "there" check the water pump for any leak sign and the RMS.

If the water pump shows no sign of a leak and there is no RMS leak sign leave them alone.

If you drop the tranny you can of course then check the clutch and based on what you see replace the clutch hardware. Not sure I'd replace the RMS if it is looking ok, but of course it is up to you.

Whether you do some IMSB upgrade is up to you, again.

Thank you, that is informative and helpful. The car runs very well, it is preventative in nature and think I will follow the above pretty much to a T so thanks again

Bernard, local indies so far are by the book and the two I spoke two obviously have more work than they need based on how they spoke to me. Sure wish I could be such a dick to my customers, so foreign to me. Oh well 😜
