Can you finance a 99 996????

Have had my car for sale for a couple of months now, I had some early interest but not much as of late, I think it would help if I could offer some financing, (not me per se) but through a bank or CU, anyone know if any major lenders will handle older cars like this? Thanks - Doug

There are some lenders which finance older cars, however I believe by older they mean classic. Capital One may but it's all dependent on the buyer.

I've had a loan through Capital One at one point for an old car. Not sure though if they still do this. Other alternative for an old car is to see if your credit card company has a loan program which I've also done in the past. At that time they were able to offer me 2% financing for two years compared to 8% avg for used car loan. Most of these types of programs are only available to people with good credit though.

Personally, I don't think people should take out any loans for "toys" IMO. Of course unless it's a Mclaren P1, lol.

I agree with that, I paid cash for it and I suspect most of us probably do, well at least for used cars. But, its none of my business, and I want to sell the car.

If you're a member of the PCA you could contact them to see if they know? Or try doing a google search for secondary car lenders, or financing for older cars.

I have done some searches but no ads or returns clearly stating that a lender will do such loans

You definitely can. I just bought a 99 996 about a month and a half ago and was offered 100% financed through my credit union. I think a lot of the bigger name places won't do a car that old and even my credit union wanted picture to verify it was in good condition since it was older.

It's the price if you've got no leads!

Sold a car through eBay before and was pretty stress free besides the Nigerian who kept calling asking for my bank details?????

The eventual buyer was happy, I got my asking price and it only cost me a couple of part worn tires thrown in to secure the deal.
