jasclass,
do u think that fabspeed has any resonance?
be honest with u, i am not even sure about what resonance means. just that many people mentioned about the word related to exhaust question.
i might just go for fabspeed since you recommended. thank u

resonance
res·o·nance ( P ) Pronunciation Key (rz-nns)
n.
Physics. The increase in amplitude of oscillation of an electric or mechanical system exposed to a periodic force whose frequency is equal or very close to the natural undamped frequency of the system.
To you and me, that means: uncomfortable sound frequencies that cause what is called exhaust resonance, or noise, inside the car at cruising speeds. Usially in the lower RPM's (2-3k ish)
I have two friends with Fabspeeds on 996's. On the normally-aspirated car (a 996 C4) it resonates in that RPM range inside the passenger cabin. The other has his Fabspeed on a 996 TT and the turbos silence this resonance naturally. As a result, I bought a GHL. No resonance in comparison, which is guaranteed, and quite honestly, much easier to drive around in.
I also have friends with Fabspeeds on their track cars, where resonance is irrelevant. They certainly sound great, but seem less practical for daily driving in a non-turbo car. My opinion of course.
Some additional subjective data for you. When I was looking for exhausts, the shop that I was using to gain knowledge on this topic from was swapping out their second fabspeed for a GHL in 3 months time. I was sold.
