I don't know about the rest of you but the cupholders in my 911 are in the worst possible place. I don't think Porsche could have chosen a worse spot lol. I already had coffee land on my expensive Kenwood in dash once already and refuse to let that happen again.

I like to search for parts and upgrades when I have some spare time ( not usually often lol) and last night I was searching on ebay and came across this cup holder and decided it was worth the $50 buy. It's an insert that fits right inside the armrest. It's a perfect spot for a perfect price. I placed the order and will give a further detailed feedback about the item once I receive it. I can't copy the link due to the fact I have the eBay app but, the item number is 262229177828. There is more photos than the one I am posting. I am excited about this purchase and feel many of you would be as well.

Porsche has never really had a good cup holder for the 911. That being said, the 997 cup holders are better than the 996 cup holders. You're not going to get a Big Gulp in one of them, but they will hold a cup of coffee with no problem and no spilling on the center stack.

Dennis, it lists on the listing what will fit. You're right though, they won't fit a big gulp lol. Luckily for me I don't drink that stuff anyways. The most I'll ever have in the car is a DD large coffee or a bottle of water. Those will both fit. Looks like a good little addition, plus it can be hidden when not using it. I tried fitting some 986 cup holders in but the cup bumps off the screen and I'm not comfortable with that. I don't use CD's in the car so I don't need the cd holder as well. I plan to order a tray that fits in the cd holder spot. This way I have somewhere to put my ipod rather than between my seat and the console.

I went to pick up my recent purchase, cargraphic 3 piece lightweight Racing wheels.
Really cold here today, but got one side on, I need to check clearance, they are 18x9 & 18x11, the tires on the wheels are too short for rear.
I will post a thread when the area in between the spokes are painted color to match.
Here is old set and new

Those wheels look AWESOME on your NB. I love your car hahaha. What type of wheels? At first glimpse I thought Victor Equipment. Looks more like BBS once actually looking them over. Why change the tire size? I got 35's on my 19's. Lower the car a little bit. If you're not into the ride of a lowered car a set of Eibach or H&R springs won't change the ride quality. You will actually find more of a ride change in the tires.

Not sure I'd be happy with the compartment door sticking up, open. Seems like an opportunity to break an already fragile hinge.

The door can rest down on the cup. I personally don't drive with my elbow on the console. Won't change a thing for my driving experience. May bother someone who uses their arm rest.

the factory top of center stack sealed bottom cup holders wont work for you? i installed this factory upgrade part in my 99 C4. moved the air control unit to the bottom of the stack. kit comes with everything need to do the factory upgrade with porsche parts. takes about one hour to do.

Got the cupholder in. Fits perfect and the console opens and closes as normal. I am so glad I made this purchase.

these do look good. i would elbow one in my car because I am short and set lower in the seat, forward in the seat track. so my console is slightly to far to the rear to make use of one of these. if you have a dash screen, the factory top mounts wont work so this is the only nice option i have seen.

That's about the worst place possible for a cup holder. I tried a few different ones and finally settled on this one. The only downside (for some people) is that it won't hold a can because it has no bottom. I really like it. I have no affiliation with the company.

I'm a happy user of the same sound in motion cupholder that wyovino has. The thing is, the SIM cupholder requires that your cups are of the correct diameter. Small paper coffee cups will not fit - they will slide right though. I installed the pair of Porsche OEM cupholders in the upper center console to handle the smaller cups.
