I have a '03 996 Coupe with Bose.
I removed the rear Bose woofer speaker deck for fitment of Roll Bar.
I have not turned radio since, will it cause any damage to radio with the two woofers not hooked up?

It will change the impedance, it will go up. You're also going to have to adjust the wiring because disconnecting the load on the low pass leg may affect characteristics of the high pass leg. So, you may not get any sound. I don't think it will "hurt" the head unit but since there will be no crossover the unit may not work. I'd go to a local audio shop and pick thier brains.
Also, you will need to insulate the ends of the wires so they don't short out by touching each other or on the frame.

I really am not an expert but here goes. The head unit puts out the electrical signals which go to the speakers, each speaker is designed to make sound over a certain range, for simplicity, high, mid, and low. Since you disconnected the low, there will be no base sound, which lowers the amount of work the head unit must do. But, if the wires are shorted could damage the head unit, so they have to be capped off, use a wire nut.
It's the same thing if you were to disconnect the left speaker, the only sound you would hear is what come from the right channel, won't hurt, just sound funny. You have to think of this as a "one way" system, the current/signal goes only one way with the end result being sound, not a continuous circuit, nothing goes back to the head unit, that's why you need to cap off the ends.

 

Thanks kinda what I thought, the base would be marginal. The Bose system has 10 more speakers won't they have some base.

I was hoping the woofers had thier own inline fuse I could remove, that might be too easy

You might get a little base but not the low, more like mid-range.

After my over spending on my exhaust system, I should just be listening to the car!

 

For what it's worth, I have a 2002 with PCM1 and the Bose, I've had my subwoofer removed for years and the stereo works fine (I actually think it sounds much better).

I am going to go out and pull off car cover and just turn it on and cross my fingers.

 

I found that adjusting the audio settings (use the Loudness setting to add Bass) easily made up for the rear subwoofer missing. The doors subs are ported enclosures and actually do a decent job for what they are.

 

I did some disassembly today in the frunk and found that my Bose subwoofer has its own amplifier under the cd changer. All of the other speakers run from the main amplifier by the spare tire, so disconnecting the sub will have zero impact on the primary amplifier life. There seems to be more audio variations than I ever thought possible though - hopefully your car is setup similarly from the factory.

 

Ty, I don't have a CD changer, but I am going to tape cover the connection for the entire woofer shelf and try it in the morning.
The roads were clear today, so I went for a couple hour drive to get used to new suspension.

It shouldn't cause any issues. The Bose sub system runs off an amplifier. Your sub receives it's power and amps from the amplifier. You won't notice a difference other than the sound quality not as nice cause you no longer have the subs. I have a rollcage in my car and it didn't interfere with my Bose sub box. That's odd yours does.

I ran a double din nav screen with a alpine amp. What a pain having to bypass the factory equipment. If you have a Bose system and want to upgrade to a double din and amp be prepared lol.

I went with a dassport, it connects to rear shock towers and has a solid bar horizontal that is utilized as a rear strut brace. I could modify the bose shelf to still fit, but did not want to cut it. I don't really listen to any music except the song of my Flat Six singing through Tubi Style Mufflers.
