Anyone have similar alarm problems?

A friend of mine whom also owns a 99' 996C2 had his alarm go off one day in his driveway. Since then his alarm beeps twice anytime he arms it, which I believe usually indicates that a door or bonnet is ajar. (he couldn't tell if someone tried to break into the car)

He said that he has verfied that everything is closed properly. Can this only be an alarm sensor or wiring malfunction, or has anyone else encountered other causes of this problem?

He was considering just taking the car to the dealer to check it out, but I'm sure that will cost him some $$$.

Thanks for any input.

the dealer should be able to give you a rough idea on what it is if not an exact one withn an hour. All they do is hook up their Porsche tester and presto! I had this annoying problem for months. It ended up being the passenger side door latch. Part costs roughly $200. Labor should be no more than 2 1/2 hours. Also check that the center console glove box is in place but im sure you have. Happy hunting : )

it is probably the radio. There was an issue with them setting off the alarm. Call your dealer I think there is a tech bulletin

UNC Nick has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Same problem for me on my cab- 2 beeps. Tech ran diagnostics and found that it was the motion sensor setting it off. Since there was no motion in the car any of the times it has happened, thought is that the sensor is bad. Replacement came in the mail today. Installing tonight or tomorrow. Will see if it works.
