Been away for a little while so may have missed the thread but can I ask the reason why you sold your car?

 

Sure, my son is getting his MBA and I'm going to pay for it so when he's out he's debt free.

 

Now that's a stand up dad! I had to pay for my Grad. school and then some. Your son is very lucky! Maybe one day he'll buy you a 911!

Ah I see, a selfless act indeed. Kudos to you. I'm not sure I would be happy if my parent sold his pride and joy to pay for my education, although i would happily sell mine for my son. Depends on which side of the table you're sitting.

 

I didn't tell him until it was sold, then I just gave him a check. Both of my sons have been wonderful as sons so it's just a way to let them know I love them and I'll always be there for them. Another 911 will eventually come my way.

 

At least you're "investing" in your sons as we all know a 996 isn't a real "investment", lol.

What goes around comes around and some people can't see that until it's too late. It's the difference between grown kids helping out their aging parents later in life or not.
