Crunching noise rolling up window

Both my windows roll up and down at different speeds, but tonight the passenger window started crunching on the way up and rolled up really slow I did not thing it was going to make it. Now the window does not go down all the way when I open the door.

Motor or track?

Replace your window regulator. A very common issue with our Pcars.

^^^ Yes, the window regulators are notorious for going bad on these cars.

My indy shop told me to go with the OEM ones when I had mine replaced. He said that they were much better quality and better to spend a bit more up front than to have to replace them sooner.

Just replaced mine on the passenger side too. Bought the URO version online from rmeuropean for $127 shipped. An improved design with ball bearing rollers. However, I did swap out the OE cadmium plated bolts for the URO chrome plated bolts. They are higher quality. Just have to remember to take out the 986 stop on the front bottom mount. Obvious when you compare the old to new. Easy to do, works perfect. Just be careful removing the two electrical connectors from the inner door section. They are delicate.

I concur with the poster above that revving the oem part. I have replaced mine twice now on the passenger side, once with non oem, and now with oem. The non oem part lasted about two years. Hoping the oem one lasts longer. Original oem lasted 13 years (MY 2000).
