Finally got rid of useless CD storage

Finally got rid of the useless CD storage and replace it with something useful as the Scan Gauge II, I pick up a nice plug and play Scan Gauge II from a member here Gatorlapiz, took me all of 10 mins. to install this unit and looks great in the dash and give me great info, performance info, and fault codes.

first was easy to remove the CD storage, pull out all the storage and pull unit from dash

routed the OBDII wiring from the back of dash to the OBD II port, very simple and use tie strap to secure wiring, nice thing about the wiring was the 90 degree connector tucks away the harness nicely

Snap the Scan Gauge into the dash after connecting OBD II wiging to back of gauge. great view, looks OEM, and my phone mount does not interfere with viewing of gauge

I use my blue media obdII Bluetooth dongle to read engine parameters in real time. it cost 95 and you just plug the dongle into the obdII slot under the dash and see the data on your smart phone. no need to grunge up the dash with anything.

I don't know how save it is to look at your phone while driving. But that is a great option.

just like glancing at a gauge. mine is located on a mag/mount up by the sunroof control/light area. i can see the data in real time on my G-pad or Lg G5 cell with a glance without taking my eyes off the road. plus i can see any code and correct it on the fly if it should happen. i use the G-pad on long trips because that frees up the Bluetooth on the phone for calls through the kenwood deck and hands free capability with that stereo.

All that adds up the cost. By the time you add the cost of the mount you have plus either having the gpad, we might be a bit closer to my price. Feel free to post a pic and others can judge for themselves as it sounds like it would be a great option as well.
