Wow, so putting a set of sports design wheels will really kill my car's handeling vs. the 5 spoke.

if they are so light why does everyone change them to aftermaket or to something else?

No putting them on will not kill your handling. People change the Carrera lights because they are ugly. Let me know if you feel the 4 lbs of rotating mass difference. You need to put on what you like and what suits your car. The Carrera light wheel is no doubt light, but at what price looks. How many times have you been to the track and how many times do you plan on going to the track?

I felt a huge difference when I went from the turbo twists to 5 spokes in terms of unsprung weight.

it's not 4 lbs. It's 24 lbs rotational weight. That's about equal to removing 50~80 lbs static weight. I felt mine when I change to the SSRs.

Ditto,

I have 4 sets of tires/rims:

5 spoke
Sport Design (2pr)
Turbo Twist

and I can actually feel the difference between the the 5 spoke and others in braking. Otherwise, there isn't a difference you can "feel", but there most likely is a measureable difference.

Any by the way, everyone tells me they like the looks of them MORE!

I actually feel the difference in acceleration too.

4 sets of tires and rims? Whoa. I don't deny the sport design looks great. Saw a Turbo S Cab with them on along with PCCb shining through. Stunning.
