Question Any experience with cat bypasses??

I've done the searches and have found very little. Not going to spend over a G on 100 or 200 cell cats, so considering the cat bypass. I know the possibility of CEL's. I want the weight savings and decreased temps. Those cats really heat the air right below the airbox. Would stand to reason there would be some gain there, if the reduced back pressure doesn't hurt. I'm wanting to know if there is any PROVEN increase or decrease in performance.

Thanks. Been there, done that. no conclusive information for NA cars. Just a bunch of, "it sounds good".

People install it and are happy with it, saves some weight and they notice a difference in power (butt dyno), but I have not seen a dyno chart either if that is what you are after (besides Fabspeed).

If I can't get one here I want it mainly for the weight savings and noise increase (already have headers and exhaust). I have dyno'd my car about 2 months ago and it will be going back on the rollers in about a month for tuning (unichip computer so I will dial it in with BMC and bypass pipes).

I can let you know then if you want to wait.

That's exactly what I am looking for. I want the bennifit of more sound, less weight, and less heat. But am not willing to further reduce my low RPM performance. I have a Fabspeed (copy) airbox and headers arriving tomorrow. I plan to do reprogramming soon.
