My Centercaps are fixed!
My Centercaps are fixed!
Many of you have seen the shots of my new rims. The rims did not have a centercap I liked. The center was also much smaller than the stock Porsche center caps.
I had an extra set of caps so I started playing. And as some of you know I love a challenge.
The current center caps were attached by 3 screws. So I measured and drilled holes in my PCar caps. I had to remove the rear tabs and used my dremel to remove the ridge around the back edge.
I like the results. The finish is a bit off but the high polish ring around it sets it off just nice.
For those of you that are getting the same rims feel free to contact me if you want to do this mod.
PARDON THE QUALITY (it is dark outside AND snowing so the garage is the best I could do)

also....center caps on older Porsche's are smaller I think...I wonder if one of the older caps would fil better? But it looks better than the dummy locks...I actually have been on the fence with those rims because of the dummy locks....

Trovan is correct. It just fit better this way.
Yeah it was one of those things where I tried several things and then came up with this. I was not sure how the screws would look. And they look good.
Unfortunatly we have a few inches of snow on the ground so I won't be able to see outside views till prolly Sunday. Will post pictures then.
