Battery Mod
Finally!....Here's the price for the battery mod....$85 and includes the following components:
1 baseplate (3/8" T60/61 aircraft aluminum)
2 scalloped brakets (1/8" aluminum...1 for each side of the battery)
4 stainless steel 1/4X20 studs
4 lock washers
8 stainless nuts
You will have to drill the four holes for the studs using a 1/4" drill bit (hole placement will be etched onto the aluminum by the laser machine) but the two larger holes (for the bolt that holds the tray to the OEM tray using the factory threaded holes) will be cut on the laser machine. Shipping is NOT included in the cost but will be shipped via FedEx ground service or any of the other Fedex Options....but not UPS.
We MUST order the trays in lots of 10 otherwise the fabricator is not interested in cutting them.
If you are interested please contact me at cp3@pcarmods.com (please put "Battery Mod" in the subject line). As soon as I get firm commitments for 10 pieces I will place the order. Let me know if you have questions.
Thanks

Pelican parts sells a similar plate for the Optima. I bought one, but ended up doing the lightweight Odessey instead.

To nycebo--the four small holes for the studs that hold the battery down had to be drilled using a drill press becuse the laser machine could not cleanly blow through the 3/8" thick aluminum due to the small radius of the hole. You can use any 1/4" drill bit to drill the aluminum plate.
Cheers!

I like stock or Odessey 925. I don't see a reason to go with an optima. It's only 10 lbs less than stock. The Odessey is 30 lbs less and I can let it sit for a week and it will start right up.
Suggestions for where battery cable extensions can be sourced?
The odyssey is very small, and if mounted in the OE location with it's 'Hold Down' its "length" puts both of it's terminals either on the right side of the car or the left.
OE cable length appear to allow very little flexibility for that.
TIA
