2000 Porsche 911/996 convertible lost first and reverse gears
Hi.
something happen to my first post so I will try again
i just purchased this car about a month ago
i knew I would have to fix her a bit and two weeks ago the clutch was having issues
i live in a small town in south Texas. We have two qualified shops to work on a Porsche.
well I just picked up the car with the new clutch and flywheel. Shifted like butter. But this evening after taking the wife to dinner. I lost first and reverse. I was able to limp home in second gear with the hazards on, very sad moment.
I want to assume the liability resides with the mechanic. It never showed this problem before. I am looking for advice, how do I proceed. The clutch and flywheel were original New Porsche parts, as I was told , and it wasn’t a cheap repair. Could he have damaged the gear box? Or installed the clutch wrong? I am sad and confused.
