Audio system idea for my 996 & questions
Hye guys i think i am finally gonna do the plunge and upgrade the audio on my 996.. (which suxs right now)
I am a big fan of alpine so i will most likely use teh
Alpine CDA-9815 for my head unit
or
Alpine CDA-7995
As for the digital Audio Processor i will be using the ALPINE PXA-H700
I'm thinking of using the Diamond audio D7056 Amplifier. it's a 6-channel amp
I used to have the Diamond Audio Hex Series speakers and subs on my previous car whichs was a 98 MBZ clk320I loved it , so i most likely will be using them on my car again..
i am planing on using the stock speaker mounts in the 996, then a custom made enclosure to be put in the the rear hatch of the 996 on the back of teh rear seats below the rear window... probably use two 8in subs... and have teh amp mounted in the front trunk ..
i have never used teh diamond audio amplifiers, and i am wondering if anyone can reccomend them, also are there any amps, or equipments that you guys can reccommend..?
also what are the speaker sizes for the 996.. does anoyone knnow the depth and width on the the stock enclosures?? bec. diamond audio speakers are a bit on the hfty size and have huge magnets etc..
I f you guys have any opiniosn suggetsions on the system or any of the aprts that i am thinking of using i would greatly appeciate it..

The diamond audio stuff is top quality, as far as speakers go, heavy stuff.
I am currently running 4" and tweets in the dash (A/D/S) Not sure I like them, not high enough for me. Considering going to Focals.
In the doors, running 6 1/2 inch mid range Eclipses. Nice mid bass and not too heavy.
In the rear, running 4" Focals. Nice for fill. Very, very good speaker.
For a sub, I am running two 8" JL Audio. I have tried a few brands and have found this the best bang for the buck. I have a custom enclosure in the rear of the car, in the place of where my POS Bose box was.
For AMPs, I'm using Auduson and an Audio Control EQL.
My head unit is by Alpine and quite pleased with it with an Alpine DVD/CD Changer and Alpine Nav with a Alpine XM unit as well.
Sweet setup. Paris Audio did the job in LA. They are terrific for answering questions, ask for Jamey.

I am probably going to switch out my A/D/S's soon.
My custom enclosure was $2500 and absolutely stunning. They finished it with Porsche leather for a nice OEM finish to it since my car is full leather. I recommend them highly.
BTW - I get no kick backs once so every by recommending them, just a happy customer.
Give Jamey a call, or PM me if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Robyn

I went with the ARC amp, and am very happy with it. I second Robyn's comments on the Focal's. I have 6.5 inch 3-way Utopias in the doors and 2-ways in the dash and rear (sides), and they are unreal. They are also very low-efficiency, so you really need a high-quality and high-power amp to make them sing. I went with a pair of Image Dynamic subs, mounted in the space where the useless rear seat-ettes are supposed to be
. Rod at Car Audio Innovations in Roseville did mine, but I have heard and seen Jamie's work and if I lived in SoCal I would use him in a second.
