Anyone have a clue on what they charge for "Paint to sample" now? Also how much longer the delay to get the car to the states?

C4S paint to sample is $3490 for '04. Adds 3-6 months. Deadline for an '04 paint to sample is Feb 15, 04. That means a later build date is out of the question for this option.

Hmmm. I am up for a promotion at work. You know how your mind starts thinking about how to "reward" yourself. I would love to order a GT3 in "Porsche Royal Blue". That would be one sweet color & car. Maybe I will stick to the super charger upgrade instead.

The February 15, 2004 deadline for paint to sample was added in the October 9 order guide update. I've never seen a deadline in an order guide before, so this looks like further confirmation that the 996 production is coming to an end.

Is "Porsche Royal Blue" such a color or are do you mean "Riviera Blue" like the blue trim on the 73 RS?

I read that the first time the same way you did.

But then I realize, it simply means that '04 cars cease production in July. Anything built after that is an '05 (common). Does not necessarily mean the end of the 996 lineup.

I don't think the deadline was ever in a 996 order guide before, so that's why it caught my attention. Then again you never know with Porsche!

Porsche Royal Blue is an actual factory color. It was available in the 70's and 80's but you had to pay extra for it. It is the same color as my 911 race car. The paint code is L305 from Porsche.
