This topic has been widely discussed in the past. Yes it can be done, but it's not easy to get it perfect.
The easiest way to get it done is to buy an aftermarket version that's made to fit the nb 996.
If you install it a oe TT/C4S withoud modifying it-it will fit but it won't line up exactly with your wheel arch. If that's ok with you then you're done. Don Cape Cod went this route and his looks fine.
I chose to modify mine by removing 30mm from the centre of the bumper and having it bonded back together. This allows the ends of the bumper to line up exactly with the wheel archs. The second method is to cut the overhang area to line up with the wheel arch and plastic weld the return. To me this is more complicated as you need to cut the bumper to match the curve of the fender arch. Misha modified his this way and it looks great.
As far as finding a oe TT/C4S bumper, used ones rarely come up and new from the dealer (along with the grills and other bits is stupid expensive). I bought a new one along with the grills and bits for $500, a very good deal. I bought mine late last fall from luxe auto in Fla. At the time he had one more at his disoposal.
If you go to renntech.org, you'll find a post from a Uk owner (with pics) of his TT rear install using the remove 30mm method.
Good luck and let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Cheers,
Stan

Like stan said -- No. I'd go aftermarket.

I believe the front fits fine. Just need new ducts and spray paint the bar behind the bumper cover.

The stock exhaust tips won't line up, you need some sort of connecting pipes as well..

The C4S uses the same exhaust as the nb c2 and c4. There is a pipe that connects the exhaust to the tips which aligns with the TT/C4S bumper.
Those are the pipes I'm suggesting be used.

I have an extra set of the pipes/extensions that move the tips over to the center further (like of 02+ cars. Got them with my PSE but don't use them on a 2000. However, you also need athe different style tips as the old style tips connect where athe extensions go.

Only reason I went with OE TT rear bumper is that I'm **** about using factory stuff and at the time there were no aftermarket TT rear bumper covers. I believe the early AM ones were fiberglass which I didn't want.

The fit with a facotory TT or 4S rear cover is ok, but I don't have Stan's skill on cutting one so I had it installed as is.

The front TT cover fits perfeectly if you mess around with the air ducts. I didn't change the ducts but I did cut the front bumper mount back so the edges wouldn't be visible. Then I put mesh insets in so it didn't matter anyway.

I bought the bumper from Gert at www.carnewal.com so it was the Euro style w/o bumpers. Didn't want them. Liked the clean look better

there are two alumn.brackets that hold the bumperettes, you will have to drill the top and bottom to remove this.

I'll take them if you don't need them. Please pm with a price.
Thanks,
