Question about aero bumper duct

One of you guys had mentioned that when I respray the front bumper to paint or remove the center bumper duct hole. Was this supposed to removed on the Aero or are all of the aero kits painted like mine. I am also going with the GT3 splitter. Just wondering what I should do while it is in the shop being resprayed.

I had left my center section in on my aero front as I did not have the 3rd radiator.

My factory fitted Aerokit ('04 C2) has the duct hole covered with a Black plastic piece (ie. not painted) - Removed of course if third radiator is installed.

The splitter is also fitted from factory as well.

hi, I'm going to get my aero front bumper painted this weekend and I wanted to know what you guys were talking about. Can you show me some pictures? I don't want to paint something that shouldn't be painted. want it to look factory.

here is the whole duct w/o the center cap

you can see where it should go (right hole):

supposedly the cap on the duct is just glued in and can be removed.
Regardless of the aerokit you have, the duct cover WILL be there unless you've added a 3rd radiator, or have a TIP (which has the 3rd rad.). You can remove the whole black plastice duct work , not just the cap, or you can just remove the cap, and spray the duct work as well. From the factory, the duct work and cener cap would be black....
Hope that helps...

01 C4 Cab NYC, was this a kit or home made? If it's home made, what is the thicker edge made of? Thanks

Unless you have the 3rd radiator or your car is a tiptronic the hole is covered with the black center cover. I perfer the hole open, even though about 10 pounds of leaves willl be in there.
