It'll cost you about $200 - 250 for an oilchange if you go to the dealer. Better find an independent shop. That's what I did.
Cant' help you on the body work. sorry.

The recommended oils are in your manual.

0w40 Mobil 1 is the current recommended oil for 996s at least in moderate climates (maybe worldwide?)

Not sure about the tranny.

There is really nothing special about the oil change procedure on 996 C2/C4. It's not like the GT3/2/Turbo or the 993. Any good shop can do it, or you can probably do it yourself. Just like any other car, just find the right filter. Loren at renntech has some nice DIY instructions.

Even the GT3/2/Turbo doesn't seem like that big a deal. The shop just needs to be aware of the external tank.

No, the C4S engine is identical to the C4. Same simple oil change.

to all of you from the San Francisco bay area, I'm almost at 10,000 miles in my 2002 C2 cab. Where should I take my car to get an oil change and what other maintenance service do I need? Thanks

We get together to work on cars. Sometimes even in the rain. The new guy brings the beer. Jeff

We work on cars in the San Jose area every 2 or 3 weeks.

Guess I better start checking IDs.

Sounds really great. I hope we can establish something like that in the DC/Baltimore area. Any help or advice you guys in CA can give us would be really appreciated!
