Anybody got NA 996 with Tubi?

subj.

i really like tubi (heard them on M5, others). but i was recently told by a cayman owner who has tubi that while it sound great on his car, it will sound really bad on a 996.

so... anybody with a NA 996 and tubi? how do you like it? also, if any 996+tubi owners in south cal bay area, i'd love to hear it in person.

oh yeah, i think its also my first post here. so... hi everybody just got a 996 a few weeks ago as a 2nd fun car.

I have a tubi exhaust and i love it....

The only thing i have to compare it to is the PSE + headers. Very different sounds, but i could drive both of them. The weight savings and uniqueness of the tubi gives it the nod though!

can you describe the sound? is yours an S? does it get louder when you step on it and stays low around town?

i'd love to hear tubi in action (or on a video)

I dunno how to really describe it...and no i dont have an S...

It is very growly, but not too deep to where it has that "i wana be a muscle car" sound. It is still very refined.

It is very docile at anything half throttle or under. When you get on it though, it really opens up, moreso then the PSE...

I am going to have a dyno done soon and i will make a video then. I had a bunch of parts i was going to install last weekend, but at the last minute i ordered more parts and they didnt come in...

I will do the repairs this weekend and maybe dyno that week?

ive heard it and it is quite nice. makes more of a higher octave noise than the standard low grumbly porsche noise.

go on rennlist and PM Zookie, i'm trying to find him one and he's just obcessed with the thing. he can send/post some audio/video clips.

hey dude... was on SR this last saturday. only a couple of porkers showed up. one of them had fabspeed - had a chance to check it out. but it was a coupe and i think exhaust sound totally different when driving a cabriolet. but fabspeed wasn't bad.

gonna go to SR again this weekend. you coming?

I am not a member of rennlist, so ... anyone have a sound clip of a tubi exhaust on a 996?

Cheers

I had the Tubi mufflers on my 997 non S. They sounded different from what I expected. I don't think the "improvement" justified the cost. For that reason I put the FabSpeed Maxflows mufflers on my GT3, rather than the Tubis. The 997 went to a new owner.
