Should I Paint and Polish my Sport Designs?

I was thinking of powdercoating the centers black and polishing the outer lip...

What do you guys think? I have some flaking on the wheels, and if i am going to refinish them, i might as well consider a change...

Im not sure if i want to go with black wheels again as i had them on my last car, but they are pretty mean looking!

Opinions!

You could always paint them orange and your car will have the same color theme as the upcoming 997GT3RS

I had sport designs on my old black '02 996 cab. I loved them but hated cleaning them! I would advise against painting the centers black. I have seen sport designs with black centers on a black car. Unless you have really large wheels, wheels with black centers appear smaller because the silver edge looks like a trim ring or something. It looks like you are riding on 17" wheels. The best way to help offset that look is to get a deep thin lip on a big wheel. Just an opinion though.

why dont you do a flat metallic grey gunmetal type, like the standard kinesis finish. it will look similar to the K18 wheel

My Black GT3 came with the painted (black) wheels and they are starting to show some micro scratches. I think I would like to powdercoat them but not black. The car does look stealthy though. Decisions, decisions.
I might get the "GT3" decals on the sides of the car and powdercoat the wheels to match the decals. I've seen pictures but don't know where to get the decals.
Suggestions ?

i think you can appreciate the wheel design and details in the grey.
I think in person though the glossy black will probably look better especially on a black car.

From looking at the pics I say black, check out newport 996's new post with his 997 wheels. yours will look even better with the contrasting lip.
I have always liked the gunmetal though so it comes down to personal preference.
either way it will look great.
