the DIY didnt seem that easy to me.. will it be easier when I take a look at the actual car w/ the wheel off?

do it once and you'll find that it very easy. it takes me 10 minutes per corner to change out pads. you should just get dedicated track pads (pagid yellow rs19 is excellent and long lasting) and a street set.
it helps if you have the right tools too. i use a proper jack, cordless impact wrench for the wheel bolts and channel lock pliers dipped in plasti-dip to retract the pads/pistons.
I do belive i just might do this myself, thanks for the input!

I am pretty sure i am going to need rotors to now, after measuring my fronts. Anyone know a good spot to get them>?
