Getting new nose...

Hi, I've found the Turbo-look bumper cover for my '00 that I want to purchase. The vendor can paint it to color (my color is Arena Red) Is it a good idea to have it sprayed by them and will it match my paint? I'm wondering if there's paint fade any more since the cars are now clear-coated.

Also, I'm a reasonably handy guy, but I've never done body work type stuff before, how big a deal is it to mount an aftermarket nose on a 996?

Thanks for your input. I may be doing a new nose and either the PSE or Fabspeed Maxflow exhaust. Just can't tell which yet.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Are you planning on changing the lights and fenders as well or is this an aftermarket bumper for the 99-01 996?

It's an aftermarket, no lights or fenders.

Do not have them paint it.

Follow these steps
  1. buy unpainted bumper
  2. test-fit on car to make sure it lines up properly
  3. bring to body shop
  4. leave body shop your car or gas-lid to match
  5. re-install on car
  6. smile
If you have it painted first and it does not fit right you are pretty screwed.

Agree, most aftermarket front do not fit perfectly and need experience body shop to do adjustment and make it work.
