What a fun afternoon.....

buddy of mine picks me up for lunch in his new 500SL. We tool around to eat, run a couple errands, and as we're heading back toward my office he pulls into the local Porsche dealership. Strange, I thought, he's not a Porsche guy, but maybe he's got the urge.

We pull up to the side of the dealer, and there's an InterCity Lines truck offloading some vehicles. But there, off to my right, I see a masked Ferrari, under lots of white film/paper. Geez, nice eye candy, since there are no Ferrari dealers here.

But wait, I turn around and I see my buddy talking to the InterCity Lines driver. Then I see him signing something. Holy crapdog.....IT'S HIS 360!!!!!!

I could not believe it - not one word out of him. Got it from out west. I drove it around, then he drove it home, I followed. What a sweet exhaust note.

On the ride back to my office, he let it out a bit, and that engine sounds just amazing sitting right behind you. Not too loud, just right.

Man what a car. Ferrari Red, LIGHT Beige leather, piped in red, red stitching on doors and seats, and black top dash w/red stitching, 6-speed.....WOW.

What an afternoon. Who can think about Porsches now?

Poursha is infamous around these parts
I drove my friend's 360 w/ F1 transmission & Tubi exhaust a few years ago. Wow! The engine sound is intoxicating, and it's very cool how it blips the throttle when you downshift!

Eric,
Guess that means that you won't be pulling the trigger on a new 996?

I guess there are two issues for me:

1) 360 is not a daily driver. We all ***** about depreciation. You drive a 360 more than 1000 miles a year, kiss it goodbye on any value.

2) The 996 I would want is the C4S Cab. There's about a $60,000 differential between that and a 360 coupe, at sticker. Few if any dealers are offering 360's at sticker. Most want 10-20K gouge factor on top of sticker.

So in the end, I did love the 360, it's an awesome machine. If I had to blow $175 large on an extra vehicle to sit in the garage most days, that would be it.

But I'll be in a Porsche, buddy, so watch for me down the road.
