Question Shoud I Sell my '03 C4S ?

I have had this Garage Queen for 3 years, and it has now only 5078 miles.

Should I sell it as the factory warranty going to expire? (saw some posts before talking about P-cars will cost a lot to maintain without warranty)
I am thinking about getting a M-B SL500, or SL550.

Now it comes to the dilemma. I know this is like comparing apples with oranges. They are totally different cars. What I am thinking is that I may drive it more often if it is a automatic car like SL. On the other hand, I can only enjoy the 6-speed C4S on some weekends.

I posted it for sale ($68k) and got 2 buyers in 3 days.
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/204352209.html
Both are current P-car owners. After they saw the condition of the car, they decided to buy it right away. But I am still thinking......

Should I, or shouldn't I replace the C4S with a SL? Those who have the experience with both cars, please give me some advice.

Thanks.

To be quite frank and honest with you, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? Really, getting rid of a P car for a mercedes, thats a joke right? If youre going to downgrade, go for something else, like an RS4 or just something else. I dont care much for mercedes. you have a high end sports car in your C4S and your going to trade it for a cruising hardtop conv. that doesnt seem justified to me. totally two diff cars, but i would not buy a mercedes. why not just buy a CPO Cayenne TT then? the benz is so bland looking, all their cars look alike to me and dont care much for the dissapointing quality they have had over the years. if you dont need a coupe, or two door car check out the two i listed, or if you do want/need a two door, why not another 911?

If you have only put that many miles on it over the past 3 or so years, and you're able to get that much for it (that's good money for the car, even though it may not seem like it), I would sell it and buy something you'll be able to enjoy more.

well, I did not expect to come up this price when I checked the KBB. More like $62K. From KBB, it is also hard to price those special options like PSE, or wood-trim/Aluminum-trim packages.

After I checked and compared other local C4S's (from dealers, private sellers), I feel it is possible. (I think the car price is slightly higher in Bay Area)

I have to say every car has different options and conditions. Mine does not even touched by rain. Only 5078 miles. It's virtually like a new one. Even smell like a new car. The paint has not even a fine hair swirl. One of those two buyers even told me, he checked some C4S at dealer lot, with 5k more miles and asked $3,000 more for it. Mine has the best condition after he have seen more than 5 C4S's so far.
I believe they might have intended to negotiate a few thousands off before they came. After they checked out the car inside out, both agreed this price is fairly enough for such a C4S.

Amigo - They are two very diffrent drive experinces, I had an ///AMG prior to getting my 03 Black Beauty - The ride was nice, straight line performance was amazing, but handling was another thing. Even if your just talking about daily driving, trust me you will really miss the C4S - I have a question, Why are you not driving the C4S more often, with AWD you can drive it anywhere, anytime.

The car itself sure can run anywhere.... the problem is the route to my office. I live in Bay Area, CA. 25 miles from home to work but take me about 1 hour to drive. Plus, all year round road constructions.......

If you want a change of scenery so to speak. Trade in your C4S, or sell it privately, get the $68K, and that will buy you a descently optioned Cayman S. Now thats an idea if you really want another car. They are simply spectacular cars and you wont regret it im sure. Test drive one and ull be in love.

very, very different cars. I've had a couple of benzes with the last one being a CLK 500; great engine, gobs of torque, but soft suspension and heavy feeling (BTW the SL is even heavier!). I was sure that my next one was going to be an SL 500, but I got so bored with driving an automatic. Although I've only had the C4S for 7 months, I don't remember ever being as excited to get in and drive a car daily as with this one.

Thats the beauty of Porsche, and any Porsche too! They will excite you and entertain you EVERYDAY if you drive them everyday, which you can and a lot of people do. Congrats on the car, C4S' are sweet!
