Forget what everyone has to say man, they wish they had one. We buy these cars for our own pleasure, so drive it and enjoy it and dont worry about what everyone says. I get the same stuff being a 22 year old and having gotten the car from my dad. my next P car or lambo(which i will likely buy next) will be paid in full by me. congrats on the car!

Thanks everyone I feel better now...even my good friends are saying EFF EVERYONE and do not be ASHAMED for the car. People literally come into my office and ask..."so I heard you got a new car..." and give me a weird look. uggh...

But you are all right...I work hard and had a great friend sell me this gorgeous car with awesome payments etc and I am very very lucky. I wont be ashamed about it anymore. Thanks all! GROUP HUG! haahhaa...

I promise some pics this weekend. I am DYING to take some pics. I have the hardtop on it for the "winter" in Los Angeles...and plan on removing it in the spring so I can experience going TOPLESS! WOOT!

I hope to meet some of you at a GTG or something soon!

I love crap like this, this is what my wife and I talk about all the time. We love our nice cars. People we know will think nothing of walking into a dealer and buying a 50K+ car/suv with as little down as possible and then come 5-6 years down the road the think is worthless. Yet they wonder how one could afford a pristine looking 1999 911 when it only cost in the mid 30s and will still be worth more than their brand new car 6 years from now.

It's all about priorities. Buy what you love and can afford and enjoy.

Just try to protect it from the idiots who go out of their way to injure it. I've seen everything so far from a empty bottle of beer left on the wing, to the wipers pulled from the window, the mirrors swung around, etc. People... don't f-ing touch my property all ready. Look if you like it if not keep walking.

There, I feel better now.

Thats the kicker, the average person on the street cannot tell a 99 911 from a 05, so they all look expensive, add a aero kit and then they get real confused.

When people at my office found out, all the managers came by and asked me for a ride...I guess it depends on where you work. I have yet to get any negative comments but that might be cause everyone knows I'm a car freak and bought it for the car...not the image...
Heck, the car I drive 4-5 times a week is my 91 accord DD.

I get the comments all the time too, I dont mind it too much. But, 3 weeks into ownership someone decided to script comment on the passenger door that I was not particularly fond of "dick".

It sucks but at the end of the day I am the one with the Porsche and all they have is very low self-esteem and pathetic jealously.

I got pulled over the other day for accellerating too quickly and loudly from stop to speed limit and received some abuse from a jealous law enforcement officer - he accused me of "dangerous driving" and threatened to take my license away and kept refering to the car over and over again..."you think because you drive this beautiful car, you can do what you want?!?" "No officer Sir, I would never think that" He didn't really have anything to ticket me for, so I just humoured him; and off I went...with a smile on my face.
