Car Alarm Settings

Is there a way to set the car alarm so that it makes an audible sound when you lock/unlock the car? Right now, the hazards flash twice when i lock it, once when I unlock it, but I hate having to stand there looking at my car to see if it's locking or not.

You can leave the center console open slightly. I sometimes do that. It still looks closed, just not locked.

So this $70k car's alarm doesn't have the simple option of turning on sound huh. I guess the only bad thing about leaving the center console open all the time is, you never know if it's making the sound because your door wasn't completely closed.

Oh well, great tip. Thanks!

i have been double clicking the alarm button and the horn beeps. it works but i think i've read somewhere that it disables the interior sensors. i guess the purpose of that is for dogs or children left in the car.

I personally Don't like the audible sound many of the vehicles make, I had a BMW 740, that made a terrible whistle when locking/unlocking. So the silence of the 911 was welcome to me. I just listen for the slight clunk sound and then look for the flashing light on the dash.

A slight chirp would have good.
I wounder if there is a way to add an aftermarket "chirper" to the alarm.

Just replace the factory radio with an aftermarket one and don't ground the alarm wire and instant audible alarm chirp from the OEM alarm. Or replace it with and aftermarket alarm.

I just have to admire your ability to walk away from your car without looking back to see how pretty it is.

I LIKE having to watch it to make sure the alarm sets up... Gives me an excuse.

Sometimes I have to go out to the parking lot at work during lunch "Just to make sure the car's still where I parked it."

Yeah, I could stare at my car all day, but it looks a lot cooler when in one fluid motion i step out of the car, push the door closed behind me without looking, and cause it to light up as it arms the alarm while I walk away smoothly...
