Well, this gets my vote for the ugliest 996 wing
I just found out the story behind this wing today, almost a year later.
I was at a local body shop getting an estimate for the prep and paint on the new wing. We got to talking about Porsches, and they brought up a crazy wing they did for a previous customer. Sure enough, before he could even finish describing it, I knew which car it was.
Here's the story. Turns out the wing was intended for a pickup bed cover. I'm sure you guys have all seen them at one point or another. Why you need a wing on a truck, I don't know.... Anyway, they told him it was too wide and it wasn't meant to go on there, but he had to have it.
They said he paid a small fortune to have it molded into the stock deck lid. Apparently they had to trim the wing stands, mold them in, etc, etc... I assumed it must have been a kid who's seen fast and furious too many times. Turned out to be a guy in his late 30's. And yes, he intentionally wanted the wing to be that low so that the factory mechanized wing would still work. I'm sure that must look lovely when he hits highway speeds.
I still can't believe someone would go through the trouble and expense to do something this bad. At least you won't see another one like it I suppose

The body shop was actually concerned about that. They made him come back a couple weeks later to insure that it was holding up.
