AP tested on our dyno made more HP then the other one.

BUT- I believe the claim of adding HP is highly subjective. I dyno tested my car several times before adding the AP and several times after adding the AP, (taking in to account for ECM adaptation and exhaust burn-in) and there is 0 difference in rwhp, tq or curve. Ditto for the KN Intake (which just sounds awesome, it is worth upgrading just for the sound alone!)
IMHO, I think if you buy the AP or the KN in hopes of gaining power you'll be dissapointed- Purely an 'ear only' upgrade in addition to shaving a few pounds.
The construction of the AP exhaust is very nice, and you do get that 'ooohh' feeling pulling them out of the packing box... The cans are too pretty to hide under the car.

As i posted on the other thread... The power gains are legit. Not only can you see my 3rd party tests compared to K&N and others, do a search on here for EVSMotors as well. I will link you here too -

Also here are our tests of the AP exhaust and K&N intake with sound clips and dyno sheets on a 996 3.4L, 3.6L and a 997 3.6L. The dyno does not lie as long as you keep the same variables.
Here are some links to other sound clips and before and after tests we have done.

I'm going over to the Dyno today. What variables are you using to produce th gain numbers? I'll plug 'em in and see what happens. We're using standard methods and dyno tests are performed at a very reputable shop.
I could also say 'the dyno does not lie' Dan, and I have no reason to be biased towards the negative as I would be very happy if I did see some gains!
I'm looking at hard facts that I have seen with my own eyes as a basis for my opinions and feedback. Maybe you can contact KN and Agency and see what they have to say? Neither of these parts added any measurable rwhp or tq on my completely stock 996 per repeated dyno runs.
But they do provide benefit in the weight saving and ear department.

Feel free and contact K&N R&D department. On their Dyno Jet they achieved 23rwhp after NUMEROUS K&N standard tests on several 3.4L and 3.6L 996 on their DYNO Jet. As my post on my forum suggests, even we thought that was BS until we dynoed it and got great results. As far as Agency Power, I make sure all the tests are done before the product is released. I am not a dyno techy guy, but once it is set, you dont change variables, just change parts.

yeah- well, it's not my goal to keep an argument thread going, just looking for some real answers since my data is showing somethign to the contrary. I've done oh, say, 20 dyno runs now.
I'm just curious how the gains were able to be obtained on one car while not on another (like mine), since we're talking apples / apples here.
Do you think the fact that mine is a tip would make a diff? Maybe the ECM is mapped differently vs. a 6speed?
My pcar is in top shape mechanically, and is all stock except for the KN / AP.
btw i'm not going to spend my time calling KN and AP - That is rediculous! I usually expect the local performance shop / dealer to handle that...

Dont roll your eyes, you might lose them! JK
Well now we have made some headway. BTW on the other thread I agreed we can move on. Dyno testing a Tip is much different i believe. So that might be the issue there. All our tests are on 6speed cars. Any time we have tested suto automatic cars in auto mode, we tend to have different outcomes.
