I have the PCM II and it is much easier to use than the similar system in my previous e46 M3. It has bright and easy to read display and logical controls vs. the BMW. I much prefer a nav system over having to stop and ask for directions.

Thanks for the reply, Is PCM II different than PCM that comes in a 2004 Model ?or is that the latest version?

PCM II replaced PCM I in MY03 and is waht you'll get in an 04...I have tried navs on the ML55, X5, CL500 and other cars and find the Porsche one to be the best to use...

msindi, Thanks for the response, and the link. Does the system come witha single CD player, or is it a cassette?

It is DVD based Nav. like MB, BMW, and Audi. Unlike VW that still uses 7 CD's instead of 1 DVD. But I think that PCMI uses CD's.

PCM II does not come with a cassette player like the older PCM I...Instead, the NAV CD player also reads music CDs like on the Benzs...thus you can use the in-car either for navigation or as an in-dash single CD

Also PCM I keeps making a funny sound when no CD is inserted (real annoying!!) whereas PCM II doesn't

I got the PCM1 system but also the multi CD cassette in the front compertment.

Works great for me. The only bad thing is the price for upgrading nav system. In Denmark it cost around 1600 Euro for Europe nav CD´s (7 CD´s)

Besides that...........I love the car
