Just an amazing car.....the traction and stablility of this car in the wet is awesome.....just for fun i punched it coming out of a hard left hander....i expected to lose traction and the PSM to kick in....nope...it just rocketed ahead as if it was dry....truly amazing.

I hear you Newport I love my C4 for the same reason! I am doing a DE at Laguna Seca in two weeks hoping it will rain so I can take advantage away from the C2 guys in weight! Rain or shine we'll drive!

It's those wheels keeping you to the ground, they are heavy.....

I do believe that I have one of each sitting around over at the shop. I think yours might be heavier..... I'll have to take my scale with me the next time I get a chance......

Keep what you have since they work so good in the rain.....

anyone know how the PSM works when it detects loss of traction. Does it allocate power to the wheels that are not detecting loss of traction like the audi quattro system or does it cut fuel and brake the spinning wheel like a BMW? the quattro system is more fun.

The 996 C4 four wheel drive system uses a simple and light weight (121 lbs)viscous coupling clutch with normal 20:80 front:rear split (min 5:95 and max of 40:60). If you are really pushing it, you will have 5 to 7% slip angle in your tires before the PSM intervenes to "save you". Even with the PSM button off, the PSM system will still collect info and will active under exceeding circumstances with brake depressed and the button disabled.
