You can get a OEM Sachs Clutch Kit for 299 which isnt bad, would my clutch feel different with a new one verus my 36k one? I figured maybe new SSk new Clutch too . Thanks guys

Just thought If i got a new one it would feel better than mine that has 36k miles on it. Like I said nothing wrong with mine now, xcept when I down shift say from 4th to 3rd and shift hard the clutch feels looser. Then I shut the car off for awhile then its tight again. Is this normal thats y I was wondering maybe put a new one on and be tighter all the time.

I have over 80k on my clutch and its working perfectly....Your clutch will go from wear and tear, not mileage..if you are hard on your clutch, then its can go in 5k miles....if you are not, i have heard of thm lasting 100k miles....just depends on how its driven.

How would you rate your clutch usage? 80K is good for a clutch. I have 36K on mine and I wonder how much longer it will last. It feels fine, and I don't do burn-outs and high RPM clutch dumps, but I do drive my car like I stole it. If you have 80K on yours and it turns out you drive fairly aggressively, I'd sleep a lot better.
Thanks.

Yes...I am pretty agressive....I dont baby my car thats for sure....but I do rev match my downshifts, dont do any burn outs, and I think I am pretty easy on the clutch....I also do lots of highway driving so its in 6th for lots of those miles....

Clutch replacement

Bought my CPO three years ago with 10K miles on it and just now replaced the clutch at 32K miles. That seems way to short IMO as I have been very easy on it. I have no idea, however, how the PO drove the first 10K! Porsche dealer price for clutch kit, re-surface flywheel, labor: $1.7K. The upshot about the dealer doing this work is that they found the RMS starting to leak and replaced it with the 997 seal under warranty.

Bottom line: if it ain't broke, leave it be. You will feel the pedal start to get harder and less smooth when the clutch is going far before it starts to slip or chatter.

So as far as when I downshift at high rpms and the clutch feels a looser, is that normal. Like I said when I shut the car off and start again its fine.

Describe what you mean when you say the clutch feels looser?

Usually the clutch is tight feelin, but when I down shift hard it gets loose like not too much pressure. I dont know might be anything just wondering if any one else feels it when they do this.
