Mods

Ok Ive decided to do some engine mods. But what will benefit me the most from ppl with personal exp. I have a 3.6 L NA 996. I currently have Fabspeed bypass pipes which are loud but Im used to them and everyone loves them but I lost some low end torque but its seems I gained a little in the uppers. Should I ECU flash the car w a intake,or go headers and a intake. I really dont want to mess with the ECU just for warranty reasons but will I benefit from headers and intake wo the ECU. Thanks guys

little benefit,
headers, not much if any, you might even loose perf.
Bundle these mods, exhaust, air intake (evo v flow) and giac flash. This is the most noticeable...but only in response of the engine, the breathing is better I think. Plus a nice sound. This may add 10-20 hp at most and isnt noticeable at the seat of you pants. You have to S/C if you want anymore than this.

Then there are the feel mods, B&M SSK, Suspension etc...

As far as warranty, the dealer wont detect a GIAC flash, If you piggy back the ecu def will ruin warranty.

I love my K&N intake... works great, noticeable difference compared to the Fabspeed setup I had (with BMC filter)... friend of mine dyno'd his car back to back and had 10hp over fabspeed at the wheels..

get a chip at the same time.. there are chips (GIAC) that can go into stock mode and the dealer will not know you have it!! Headers will also help with some more HP... may lose a little torque... but who cares

So Redridge like I said I have a Fabspeed bi pass pipes I lost some low end torque I think but after I had it installed for a month or so the oem computer got adapt and I might have gained a few HP in the uppers. So if I just add a V Flow Intake with a GIAC Chip I could add 10 -15 across the board. Or do I need a sport exhaust like a Maxflo from Fabspeed.

JAY@BRANDYWINE is infamous around these parts
Intake and GIAC is the way go, i agree with Redridge after that supercharging is the only other option, The flash will help with the low end and the throttle responce plus higher revs

So Jay the GIAC Flash wont ruin my warranty. What does piggy back ECU mean, and the GIAC has a normal mode you can switch too haha I dont know too much about it

Cabova, make sure you dyno that bad boy before and after so we can get a true horsepower reading.

PIggy back means another computer that works together with the factory unit. Unlike the GIAC with flashes a new program onto the factory computer chip kind of like an upload.

You will see 10-15 hp with a flash and intake.... also if you really want to wake up your car... go with a LW Flywheel

That is correct, the computer adapts to the way you drive it. Is that a muffler bypass or a cat bypass? Stay away from cat bypass unless you buy the sports/high flow cats, these wont screw with your cel.
You actually need some back pressure so I would get rid of the bypass and put a sport exhaust. At first I thought giac flash did nothing but maybe around 100 miles or so you will notice that it is more responsive, so it may actually feel quicker. I had it for one summer and I had fun with it. I did these mods and I believe they add performance, bottom line. Are they worth 3k-4k for 10-15hp, all depends on your pocket, bottom line. Dynos generally are really the only way to tell. Welcome to modding.
