Stainless Steel Door Sill---Installation HELP!

Hi all,

Got a pair of the Carrera stainless steel door sill and tried to install it yesterday, somehow the original black plastic one is so hard to take it off, has anyone done this yet? I tried the hair dryer/dental floss method, not working... anyone with any advise?

TIA

I replaced my original black sills.
Get a good grip on the rear edge and pull.
It will come up.
Then use goof off to remove the old glue.

get under it with fishing line/metal string and go from one end to another "cutting" it out

Thanks for your tips...

Do I just pull it hard like there's no tomorrow? This thing is like suuuppppeeeer-glued and doesn't want to leave the car !!!

And I did tried the floss/fish line, but before I can cut in-between the sill and the car, it cut the line first...

I will try again...

I wedged a plastic putty knife under the edge and got a good grip, then just pulled.
My car was new then.
Maybe that makes a difference with the glue.
What year is yours?

I heated mine up and had to put a HUGE amount of pressure on it. Then comes the fun of cleaning up the old glue with the 3M adhesive remover...
