99-00 market

Whats up guys and gals, im really excited about my jump into a 911 but i have a few questions. As most of you know 99-00 996 prices are getting pretty low, like upper to mid 20's which is amazing because its in my price range. It's been a long proccess deciding between the 996 and a e46 M. I already have an e36 m3 and have been told by many that the e46 will be too soft. Im looking for a more hardcore sports car, so i think the 996 is the car i should go for.
Now i have not been following the 911 market like i have been the e46, so would you say the prices are more stable now or should i wait it out another year. I know a budget of 25-28k is really really cheap, but i really cant spend anymore than that if i want to have money left over to properly maintain this baby. Do you think its a bad idea to be looking for an early model with higher mileage for a low price? I know about the whole rms issues and this worries me and that might be the end factor that kills the deal. Any input from you guys would be appreciated and taken to heart, thank you!!!

If you are ready, buy now. Check autotrader etc and get busy. Prices will always go down over time. You can wait another year, but why? No matter when you buy you will always find a better deal as soon as you write the check. My advice is to buy the best one you can find and don't look back. A higher mileage car may have been maintained better than a newer low mileage one. There are so many factors to consider:
cab or coupe, manual or auto. Would you prefer one stock or with mods? Just take your time and look around. Have a prepurchase inspection completed and you should be good to go.

I'll echo what the others have said. Just pull the trigger already !
You will not regret it. I have a '00 that I bought 3 years ago and still love it like the first day (date)

:-)

Make sure you get someone that owns one (and knows what to look for) to look it over before you buy.

You might see a spike in the prices over the summer as everyone rushes out to buy fun cars for the summer. Now is a good time.
