Warranty.
Do a search here for the threads on extended warranties. Generally speaking there are 2 that are nearly the same. Warranty Direct.com and Continental Warranty.com. Try NOT to buy from the dealer as they will soak you for their premiums.
When I was looking for the 03 that I have now I was confused on how the car prices were all over the place for cars equally dressed and mileaged. I didn't take one locally in my market because the prices were too high. You may want to think about doing the Northwest/Southwest air flight route and find a car that is within reach of these airline stops. If you have to go get the car you want, dressed as you want, and in the color you want....you may have to fly out to get it.

 

Even at $44K, it's still a good deal as long as it checks out fine. A simple mechincal thing could cost big $$$ on those things.

 

Sounds like a really great buy....Below Market Value, near wholesale... So if it's good your set. Also think about getting a bumper to bumper warranty while you still have more than 30 days of factory warranty otherwise you can't get one. I paid $3500 for my 03 for 100k till 2013, but they also cover my PCM2 Nav unit which I think was extra and I have less miles. Personally I like the sport seats with the hard back they look less dated, wish my 03 had them not the electric power seats with their heavy motors, though you have unlimited front/back adjustment which was my original justification for them over the sport seats which would have been cheaper for me to get ;( . Oh well live and learn for my next order....
