Tire Suggestions for '04 C2

First Set: OE on 18" lightweights

Second Set: Advan Neova - great at first, short life, but too noisy toward the end.

Third Set: PS2's - great tires and would buy again

Each set of rears lasted about 9 months, which is all I really expect. What else are you running that you like better than the PS2? Anyone have experience with PZero Corsa?

This is currently being beaten to death (again) over at Rennlist:

Search the archives for more information, it has all been covered a million times.

Personally my next set will be Bridgestone Potenza RE050A PP.

These look hot but for 18x10 rears the max is 265.

These probably won't last too long but the're good for autocrossing and I've noticed a lot of PCA people running them. Also if you only have a 18x10" rear, the biggest you could get is 275. I'm considering these myself.

Guys, make sure you know which RE050s you're picking out. The set that you want are the RE050A Pole Positions.

I just wish they made 315s, but since they don't I'm "forced" to run PS2s which are insanely priced at $470 a pop.

My factory 18x10's were 285 if I'm not mistaken.

The Bridgestones that I suggested aren't offered in in anything larger than 265 for 18". If you have 10.5" or larger for the rear the Falkens have a 315/30/18. Pippen mentioned that he has the OE 18" lightweights and if those are the rims I think he has (same as mine) then those only went up to 10" in the rear.

running 295/30/18 rears, and RUF recommends staying with the PS2's, but I wanted more input

of course they're going to recommend that - they're in a business patnership together - not to say PS2s aren't excellent tires, but the are comparable out there such as the Pole Positions for cheaper.

maybe a few dollars difference but a ton of weight saved on the PS2's as opposed to the Pole Positions...

youre right... 02 and up 996 have 285s in the rear; 996s before 02 had 265. I have beaten this dilemma to death. I decided after speaking to several people that Im going to put a 285/30 in the rear on a 10" width rim... this size tire will look flush in comparison to the stretched 265.
