Well after months of listening to a rattling speaker in the dash not to mention the mono tone sounds... I decided to do something about it. I picked up a A|D|S 640 6 channel amp (Possibly overkill but I got a good deal used) I added JL XR400-CX installed in the front and rear factory grills. My goal was not to create a competition system or huge bass... Just clean music well this setup is so crisp with no distoration when cranked all the way up. It is amazing what an amp, X-overs, 4 4" coaxial speakers can do! I may add the bose sub woofer box when one comes up on ebay since I have a sub out on the amp but that is all I need. I am very pleased with the upgraded sound.

Well here is the only picture I have of this stealth upgrade... I do recommend it to everyone with the bone stock system. This is a particle board that sits on top of the amp to give the trunk a flat surface.

Did you do this to the standard factory system or the premiujm digital sound system? So all you did was replace the factory amp with the ADS amp and upgrade four speakers?

Right... I had the bone stock system 4 speakers in the dash and 4 in the rear.

Sorry for the repetitive question: Did you replace the bone stock standard system or the bone stock digital sound system?

I have the factory digital sound premium system in my '01 TT and it sounds pretty bad. I'm wondering if I can make this upgrade just as easily in my car as yours.
