Odd clicking noise when pushing down on throttle

I don't know why you would not do the logical thing and hook up your scanner to the car and see what the timing is doing when you hear the knocking? I doubt very much that it has to do with the octane you are using.

They did hook it up and the ECU shows no codes, bud, and I don't have a 911 scanner lying around my pad. Forgot to ask for that last year from Santa cuz I was a bad boy I guess.

you even with the stock programming. It is not uncommon for porsches to
ping on poor octane premium fuel as they are tuned for 98RON minimum and
the fuel that you get is likely 95RON as is the fuel here in
california. I saw you had a stock file loaded into your car for
diagnostics. If you wish to test whether or not it is the fuel, you can
mix in some 100 octane with your pump fuel Please let me know what you
find.

So if it continues to ping on stock programming, I'm going to stick with the flash since it's paid for already and then maybe later on try to add some 100 octane and for the long run just deal with the pinging since there's no way I can tell WA state to run 98RON whatever that means.

I'm sorry, but I do not believe you are describing an internal engine knock, so why even bother with testing the flash? An octane knock is a unique sound and does not even resemble "clicking".

Again, I'm not going to run race fuel on my car anyways so what's the point of me running race fuel to see if it gets rid of the pinging? It shouldn't ping on regular fuel, but obviously it is.
I would have to try and go back to stock programming anyways so that's what I'm doing first. The hard part first and it happened to be already at the shop so it's not inconvenient for me to have it flashed back.
