1. I will be at Buttonwillow on Saturday, and I am planning on leaving the console off for a week or two so those interested can see it. It actually loks pretty good with the aluminum bits inside the car. It also is not so bad with the console and boot on (as in it looks shorter when clothes than it looks naked).

2. I do not know the hit on my bank account yet, but it is supposed to be under $4K.

How does this exactly work - please advise - does this require removing the clutch from the car as well ?

 

Darren, this is strictly an "in-car" project. It does not involve the clutch at all, and it does not eliminate the need to use the clutch. It replaces the stock plastic "H" pattern unit under the console with the mechanical beast.

 

sequential shifter has not been perfected i hear. how are you going to feather your clutch in a parking lot or when needed. will the clutch be active, and your are just eliminating the H pattern.

 

My understanding is that "sequential shifters" have been perfected for quite some time. Aside from Evans comments elsewhere (that frankly seem unlikely given the way the unit is designed and how it works - but I do appreciate his input), we have not heard of any problems with this unit. This unit seems to have no problem shifting gears at all. I am however interested in any real-world feedback anyone may have had with this type Cartronic unit.

The car still has a clutch and clutch pedal. This unit does not eliminate the clutch, nor does it impact the clutch in any way.
