You can also purchase an OEM cup bumper (which has slats like the RS) but they are a bit different.(For the 996)
Thanks everyone for the input. I have bought the parts.
I am hands-on picking up the bumper this weekend, and the seller / shop owner assures me a precise fit and that they do not deal with junk. After speaking with the owner for a while and checking reputation I feel pretty good about it.
But, I don't pay if I don't like the part so there's low risk. I too usually only buy OEM for the reasons Newport cited.
Porschenut- Rear wing- maybe, we'll see after I have the bumper and skirts on. I'm sure Fab at GMG would know.

The Porsche line is that the rear wing requires the front bumper. You can do the bumper without the rear wing, although why would you.
I'd have your body shop approve the part *and* tell you what prep cost is going to be.

You can get a set of very high quality aftermarket fiberglass GT3 MKII skirts from http://www.gtmotorsport.net/index.ph...t&page=Rockers for $299.
The problem with non OEM stuff is not what it looks like when you get it, or even when its on for the first few weeks...or months...in a year what will it look like? Thats the prob....I had a NON OEM rear bumper and it looked fine when I picked it up from the body shop....within a year it was loosing its shape and began to ripple...now it may have been because the heat of the exhaust and engine was right there and it was a bad bumper....BUT you do have 3 radiators in the front and it will get hot....good luck on those....it will look good...
I would not buy a replica front bumper. I would buy the sideskirts but not the bumper...
ANY sort of tap/bump/bottoming out is going to ruin your day. Its not the fit that I caution you on.
Your car is no lowered and your bound to bottom of or run over something somewhere.
One bump can create a long crack and your off to have another 400 paint job...
It WILL look good, but I say do it right if you can afford it. I've cheaped things in the past and you ALWAYS get burnt! Not that I still dont do it, but I know the consequences...

I am visually inspecting prior to payment, and the seller has a long standing history with pcar racing and manufacture of body parts.
This particular bumper is poly and race-reinforced on the top, and it's warranteed (for how long, I don't know).
With it being the same poly material like OEM, cracks are not likely, but we'll see. If it looks hinky at all of course I have option to not buy it.
I appreciate the words of wisdom.
