Help with AC Unit Install. Not working.
Help with AC Unit Install. Not working.
I have a 2000 Carrera C2. My climate control screen was bleeding, and the temperature readout was fading. I decided to buy a new (used) climate control unit from a fellow member of this forum. The transaction went well, and the shipping was fast and everything arrived perfect.
However, when I plug the new unit in, the A/C and Heat is not blowing out of the vents. I can put the key in the 2nd (?) position, and with my old unit, the AC would blow out air and heat....however, after plugging in this new one, it will not blow air. I can hear some sort of noise within the dash...kind of like it is trying to pump air out, but no air is coming out.
It is the exact same part number, and looks identical, but for some reason, no air coming from vents.
I switched back and forth between my old unit, and the one I just bought, and my old unit works fine (just a bad LCD screen) but the new unit will not blow the air out....I did this 3 times with the same results. Old unit works, new unit doesn't. The screen readout works fine on the new unit except for the AC (Snowflake) icon. When I hit that button, nothing happens.
Advice?
What is going on?
Do I need a re-program?
Thanks in advance.

Well, I think I figured out a solution....
I just took the LCD screen out of the new (used) one and put it into my old unit, and that works fine. The LCD is like new, and the unit actually blows air.
But, if anyone knows why the new(used) unit was not blowing air out, I would still like to know.
Thanks.
