blurring license plates on posted pics, why?

blurring license plates on posted pics, why?

I have noticed that many (?most) people blur or blank out their license plates when they post pictures, so I do also, but I am not sure why I do this.


I assume it is to keep some "crazy person" from browsing this forum and seeing the car and tracking it down, am I right?

i don't really care if people see my plate here or on the net, but when i post pics of my customer's cars i do blur the plate. well, they have the right to be unseen

Actually I've just asked myself the same question. Ppl see my license plates everyday when I drive around town... so why blur it when posting pics of it? I don't know... But I do.

I tell you why you shouldn't blurr it out... This one time at Band Camp I was playing my flute and this girl came up to me and she says.. Is that your Black Cab license plate # 76Y98EO... I say why yes it is, she says that is awesome can I blow your flute! Now just think if I blurred my plate..... no flute blowing for me!
