Talking detailing the headlights/lens

hi there,
i had the same problem. what the detail shop told me to do what to use a wax/polish with a de-oxydizer in it. like a compound with a very very light grit. also, there is a polish you can use for plastic (like the plastic windows in convertibles) that is a rubbing compound that helps remove scratches and dullness.

other than that, i saw in performance parts/automotion.com that they have a plastic healight decal sticker that goes right over the top of the headlight. it can help protect it from sun exposure.

best of luck!

Be careful with the polishing. I've tried it on my halogens and in some ways it may have made things a bit worse. .... Used the Meguiars plastic cleaner and polish.

Be careful with polishing the cover glass (resp. Lexan) of the lights because it is hardened.
This means if you remove the top layer the lights will be even more sensitive.

Cleaning the Xenon/HID lenses is no problem.
Just remove the projector. It is mounted with four torx screws (size 20).
After removing it you can reduce the projector to small pieces.

If the projector is removed, also clean the cover glass from the inside.

Always use a micro-fiber cloth - so there won´t be any scratches.

I also mounted new HID lamps.

The result could look like this:
